Capacitor release device

Capacitor trip units provide a simple way to store electrical energy for the operation of a circuit breaker. They can be used in all applications where a charger or battery would otherwise be necessary to trip the circuit breaker.

Our capacitor trip units consist of a capacitor bank and a charging circuit. The current state of charge of the capacitors can be tested using a test button on the front. If the voltage across the capacitors exceeds the respective model-dependent tripping voltage (110 or 280 VDC), the green control lamp lights up when the test button is pressed. As long as the charging voltage remains below the tripping voltage, the control lamp stays dark.
