Ground Fault Monitoring - Modular Ground Fault Location System
Ground faults in medium-voltage grids can quickly lead to line overheating and subsequent insulation failures caused by overvoltages. To detect ground faults rapidly and guarantee continuous monitoring, ground fault monitoring systems are employed.
The EFL 10 ground fault location system is a universal system used to locate a faulty busbar feeder in medium-voltage grids. It consists of a variable number of field devices. These field devices can be used individually or interconnected to form a complete system. Interconnection is established via a bus connection (CAN bus). The control panel of the field device is removable and can be integrated into the cabinet door.
Advantages of the modular ground fault location system:
- Universal system with two location methods
- Suitable for medium-voltage grids as well as resonant-grounded (compensated) and isolated grids
- Suitable for meshed grids and radial grids
- Decentralized or centralized configuration possible
