Mains and system protection
A grid and system protection (NA protection) is required for generation plants in medium and low-voltage grids. Its purpose is to disconnect the generation plants from the grid in the event of inadmissible voltage and frequency values. Due to the increasing number of small decentralized feed-in systems (photovoltaics, wind, and hydroelectric power plants), grid stability can be negatively affected. The NA protection is tasked with disconnecting decentralized generation systems from the grid in the event of an unstable utility grid (excessive grid voltage or frequency) and only automatically reconnecting them once grid stability has been restored.
Furthermore, the grid and system protection (NA protection) is designed to protect generators and transformers and to prevent unintentional islanding.
For the grid-parallel operation of photovoltaic systems or power plants, Compact Electric offers NA protection devices (CDMR-51, CDMRE-100) with customized parameterization. We configure the device according to customer specifications and, upon request, deliver it with a specific measurement and test protocol.
We offer the following grid and system protection models:
- Universal and digital grid monitoring relays according to ÖVE 8001-4-712, TOR-D4, and VDE-AR-N 4105 for panel mounting and/or DIN rail installation
- Analog grid monitoring relays
- Digital synchro-check relays
- Digital synchronizing relays
